Our Story
Nalmont Capital was founded by Nicolas Papageorgiou and Alexandre Hocquard, investment practitioners who have worked together since 2006. Their collaboration began at major asset managers, where they built deep insight into the complex needs of institutional investors and the operational challenges inherent in sophisticated investment strategies.
That experience revealed an opportunity: to build a firm that combines disciplined investment process with modern operational infrastructure. Nalmont embodies our founders’ conviction that complexity in investment management should be navigated internally, not passed along to clients.

Nicolas Papageorgiou, Ph.D.
President and Managing Partner
With over 20 years of investment management experience, Nicolas was formerly Global Head of Equities and CIO at a major Canadian asset manager, overseeing more than CAD 100 billion in assets. At Nalmont, he leads research and strategic direction.
A tenured finance professor at HEC Montreal with extensive published research, he has held senior roles at a number of financial institutions.
Alexandre Hocquard, Ph.D
Chief Investment Officer and Managing Partner
Alexandre brings over 20 years of experience developing and implementing proprietary investment strategies at a number of financial institutions. At Nalmont, he leads portfolio management and oversees the investment team.
Former head of systematic strategies at a major Canadian asset manager, he holds a PhD in quantitative methods from HEC Montreal with multiple academic publications.
